Removing any friable (crumbly) asbestos needs a Class A licence, and removing more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos needs a Class B licence, counted across the whole job. Licensed removers must notify WorkSafe before the work starts, and the area cannot be used again until a clearance certificate is issued. Check the WorkSafe register.
