What changes the price

  • After-hours, weekend and public holiday call-outs cost more.
  • Rekeying is usually much cheaper than replacing locks after a move or lost keys.
  • Modern car keys with chips or remote fobs cost more because they need programming.
  • Remote and rural addresses may carry a travel fee.

Getting a fair quote

  1. Ask for the call-out fee and the hourly or per-job rate before they come out, and whether prices include GST.
  2. Ask whether after-hours or weekend rates apply to your call-out.
  3. Ask for photo ID when they arrive, and expect them to ask you for proof you live there.
  4. After moving house or losing keys, ask about rekeying instead of replacing every lock.
