What changes the price
- Dump Run's Queenstown truckload prices add disposal fees; ask for the total including those fees before booking.
- Skip bins have weight limits. One Auckland company charges $31 for each 100 kg over.
- Soil, concrete and clay need a separate hardfill bin.
- Check the bin company's accepted-waste list before filling it. Cut Price Bins excludes hard fill from its general rubbish bins and offers separate hardfill bins.
Getting a fair quote
- Ask whether the price includes disposal or tip fees, or whether they are charged on top.
- For a skip bin, ask the weight limit and the charge for going over it.
- Ask what cannot go in, such as asbestos, chemicals, paint, gas bottles and tyres, and what costs extra.
- Check where the bin will sit, and whether you need council permission to put it on the road.
Where these prices come from
We do not invent price ranges. Every figure in the table comes from a price guide published by a New Zealand business, directory or government agency, linked below, and is shown as that source published it. These are typical ranges, not quotes. Your price will depend on your job, your location and the business, so get at least two written quotes.
