How to choose a pre-purchase car inspector in Auckland

  1. Use an inspector who has nothing to do with the seller.
  2. Ask whether the price includes a road test, and whether the car needs a current WOF and registration for one.
  3. For a hybrid or EV, add a high-voltage battery test. The battery is the most expensive part.
  4. Check the car's history separately for money owing and odometer readings, or add a history report.
  5. Get the seller's agreement for the inspection, and for a mobile inspection a flat, paved place to do it.

Get at least two written quotes for the same job, and read recent Google reviews rather than relying on the star rating alone. A listing here is not a recommendation: “Listed” businesses have not yet been checked by LocalsBest.
